The Hills we race in the

Here are the descriptions and rough locations of some of the hills we use.

Hartland Quay, North Devon

The Hill is 516 yards long, rising 260 feet varying between 10 and 20 feet in width. The surface is very n ice smooth new tarmac apart from the last few yard to the finish - which is very bumpy!

The Hill starts with a hairpin left up a very steep slope, a straight, a 90 degree right, a sweeping right, a steep straight, a hard left, a couple of wriggles and a bumpy finish.

Fairoak, Honiton, Devon

The Hill is 700 yards long and approximately 12 ft wide of machine laid tarmac

The Hill starts with a hard right on a slight down hill, followed by a gradual left over a bridge, a "straight" followed by a right and then a left uphill, the straight to the finish follows.

Wiscombe, Honiton, Devon

The Hill is 1100 yards long of excellent machine laid tarmac and is situated in the grounds of a Manor House. The Hill starts with a short straight to a 90 left, followed by a long straight to "The gate", a right hander, followed by the "Esses", a left, right, left, followed by a straight to the "Sawbench" a 90 right, a long straight then leads to "Martini" a 110 degree left hander to the finish.

Manor Farm. Charmouth, Dorset.

The Hill is 520 yards long of good tarmac, starting with a 120 degree right, followed by a short straight to a sweeping left and then a hard right under a bridge. On the exit to the bridge is a sharp but sweeping right hander and then a straight to a 90 right to the finish.
This now has been extended and goes past the 90 right by 10 yards, then has a 90 left and a short blast to the finish.

Porthkerris, Cornwall

The Hill starts on tarmac, immediately turns hard right on concrete, turns to tarmac, turns right again and up a very steep hill to a left hander, a long straight to another left hander leading to a right hand and then left hand "S" bend to the finish.

This was a wonderful hill, but unfortunaly we have lost this now.

Wadebridge, Royal Cornwall Showground

Several courses are laid out on the access roads in the Showground, they consist of lefts and rights in different combinations. The surface is machine laid tarmac.

Again we have lost this now.

Tregrehan, St. Austell, Cornwall

The machine laid tarmac starts with a medium straight into a sweeping left uphill to a long right into a short straight to a 90 left to the finish.

Prescott, Cheltenham

The Hill is the home ground of the Bugatti owners club and is a very good tarmac surface. A straight start is followed by a sweeping left, a hairpin right, up to a hairpin left, through some wriggles to a hard left uphill to a slightly hard right into the finish.

Gurston Down, Salisbury, Wiltshire

The well known hill starts with a long downhill straight to a gentle left hander (Depending on how fast you are going!) along a straight into a hairpin right uphill leading to a left and onto the long uphill finish straight. The surface is excellent tarmac.

Bryn Bach Park, Glamorgan

This hill has been changed recently - and I've not done it yet! Consequently I can't describe it for you.

Baitings Dam, Ripponden, West Yorkshire

A splendid hill, A real "Hill Climb" as you may have guessed, this is the access road to the dam. A really good surface with the hill as follows.

From the start, it's a steep climb to the first hairpin, then the second hairpin, then the third hairpin past the paddock and then a longish straight to a 90 degree right hander to the finish, this is a real riders hill with power not really being an issue.

Unfortunately, the water board (who own the site) have sen fit to fence the track on both sides - this of course means that this great hill is no longer raceable.

Loton Park, Shewsbury

Loton Park is in a deer park owned by Sir Michael Leighton, and is situated 9 miles west of Shrewsbury on the B493 road. The course is 1475 yards (1349 metres) long

Loton is a beautiful venue, well worth a visit! one of the longer tracks, it starts with a gentle right hander into a tighter left, and then left again onto a straight. From there we have a tight right hander followed by enough straight to get up enough speed to cause problems on the adversely cambered left leading to a long straight. Now here's the interesting bit - the 90 Left at the end of the straight is blind over the brow of the hill, so you have to use the braking markers. From there its another blind right, and a blast to the finish - fantastic !

Curborough - Lichfield, Staffordshire

Curborough is a purpose built track with straight start to a left, right followed by a sharp right-left-right, then a long right and a real blast to the finish.

Isle of Man, Ramsey 5000

The Isle of Man hill is from just beyond Parliament Square, through the Hairpin, Waterworks, Tower bends,Gooseneck and on for about another 2.5 Km

We haven't done this one for a while, but I'd love to if we could. Stupendous!
