The
Hills we race in the
The Hill is 516 yards long, rising 260 feet varying between 10 and 20 feet in width. The surface is very nice smooth new tarmac apart from the start which has deteriorated somewhat and the last few yard to the finish - which is very bumpy!
The Hill starts with a hairpin left up a very steep slope, a straight, a 90 degree right, a sweeping right, a steep straight, a hard left, a couple of wriggles and a bumpy finish.
The Hill is 700 yards long and approximately 12 ft wide of machine laid tarmac
The Hill starts with a hard right on a slight down hill, followed by a gradual left over a bridge, a "straight" followed by a right and then a left uphill, the straight to the finish follows.
Click for description and video.
The Hill is 1100 yards long of excellent machine laid tarmac and is situated in the grounds of a Manor House. The Hill starts with a short straight to a 90 left, followed by a long straight to "The gate", a right hander, followed by the "Esses", a left, right, left, followed by a straight to the "Sawbench" a 90 right, a long straight then leads to "Martini" a 110 degree left hander to the finish.
The Hill is 520 yards long of good tarmac, starting with a 120 degree right,
followed by a short straight to a sweeping left and then a hard right under
a bridge. On the exit to the bridge is a sharp but sweeping right hander and
then a straight to a 90 right to the finish.
This now has been extended and goes past the 90 right by 10 yards, then has
a 90 left and a short blast to the finish.
The Hill starts on tarmac, immediately turns hard right on concrete, turns to tarmac, turns right again and up a very steep hill to a left hander, a long straight to another left hander leading to a right hand and then left hand "S" bend to the finish.
This was a wonderful hill, but unfortunaly we have lost this now.
Several courses are laid out on the access roads in the Showground, they consist of lefts and rights in different combinations. The surface is machine laid tarmac.
Again we have lost this now.
The machine laid tarmac starts with a medium straight into a sweeping left uphill to a long right into a short straight to a 90 left to the finish.
The Hill is the home ground of the Bugatti owners club and is a very good tarmac surface. A straight start is followed by a sweeping left, a hairpin right, up to a hairpin left, through some wriggles to a hard left uphill to a slightly hard right into the finish.
The well known hill starts with a long downhill straight to a gentle left hander (Depending on how fast you are going!) along a straight into a hairpin right uphill leading to a left and onto the long uphill finish straight. The surface is excellent tarmac.

This hill has been changed recently - and I've not done it yet! Consequently I can't describe it for you.
A splendid hill, A real "Hill Climb" as you may have guessed, this is the access road to the dam. A really good surface with the hill as follows.
From the start, it's a steep climb to the first hairpin, then the second hairpin, then the third hairpin past the paddock and then a longish straight to a 90 degree right hander to the finish, this is a real riders hill with power not really being an issue.
Jim Rolt, on his way to FTD
Unfortunately, the water board (who own the site) have sen fit to fence the track on both sides - this of course means that this great hill is no longer raceable.
Loton Park is in a deer park owned by Sir Michael Leighton, and is situated 9 miles west of Shrewsbury on the B493 road. The course is 1475 yards (1349 metres) long
Loton is a beautiful venue, well worth a visit! one of the longer tracks, it starts with a gentle right hander into a tighter left, and then left again onto a straight. From there we have a tight right hander followed by enough straight to get up enough speed to cause problems on the adversely cambered left leading to a long straight. Now here's the interesting bit - the 90 Left at the end of the straight is blind over the brow of the hill, so you have to use the braking markers. From there its another blind right, and a blast to the finish - fantastic !

The Isle of Man hill is from just beyond Parliament Square, through the Hairpin, Waterworks, Tower bends,Gooseneck and on for about another 2.5 Km
We haven't done this one for a while, but I'd love to if we could. Stupendous!

Scarborough Olivers Mount Hill Climb (YO11 2UG)
1076m
The start line is at one end of the tarmaced paddock
Leave the line onto a short straight over a slight crest before braking deep
into a banked double apex hairpin, careful on the off camber exit onto the main
circuit start/finish straight hitting 4th gear on the big bikes before heavy
braking under the trees into mere hairpin. The exit of the hairpin can be tricky
but crucial for the drive up quarry hill under the footbridge. Very fast left
hander ¾ of the way up the hill before braking hard and changing direction
for the top shicane, quick left/right and short sideways squirt to the line.
Enough room for a celebration wheelie/rolling stoppie to the holding bay if
the time was good !
Scarborough Olivers MountTwisty Sprint (YO11 2UG)
710m
Leave the paddock in convoy and ride the wrong way up the track to Mount Side Hairpin (or whatever its been renamed now), turn around and line up. The start is about 200 yards from the hairpin on the flat. Leave the line and nip your cheeks, this is a fast one. Pick your lines over the generally straight but blind crests (4th gear jumps on the big bikes) and cover the rear brake ! As you approach the last jump on the exit of the trees get ready to hit the brakes as the bike lands and throw it into the blind right downhill drop into Farm Bends whilst still braking. Tight left then over the same off camber right hander as the hill climb onto the main start/finish straight, try and keep the rear following the front as you drive to the line.
Scarborough Dalby Forest South (YO18 7LT)
¾ mile
On the 500cc and less bikes this can be an unrewarding track as its pretty
much flat out from start to finish. However on the big bikes its totally
different
.
Leave the line on a slight incline and short shift into 3rd as you immediately
enter a 45deg left, keep driving uphill for 100 yards into a blind 45deg right
bend followed by a left, then its driving gradually left on the back wheel
over a series of crests getting faster and faster on what is basically a 10
foot wide tree lined forest drive. As you approach the finish line in 5th at
almost 140mph you try and pick a gap between the timing lights before you hit
the dip
..A real track for the adrenalin junkies !
Scarborough Dalby Forest North (YO18 7LT)
1 mile
Leave the paddock at the top of the hill and ride down the track to the holding area by the lake. Line up under the trees at the foot of the hill. Immediately off the line turn right and start a steep climb up Adderstone Rise. Pick a braking point for the blind crest and left hander through the rather solid wooden gate posts and short straight before the blind left hander. Knee on the floor and head buried in the long grass this corner seems to go on forever as you try and look for the exit, eventually you see it and get back on the throttle whilst wrestling the bike left/right/left through a fast chicane jumping the holes beyond the apexs where the tarmac used to be, snatch another gear and hold on tight for fast final uphill right crest/corner, hopefully youll land back on the track and skim the timing tripod.
